What can I expect on my first visit?
Your first visit begins with a thorough health history and consultation. Dr. Hammes will discuss your symptoms, health goals, and any prior injuries or conditions. If appropriate, he'll perform a spinal analysis using the ProAdjuster 360 system and may provide your first adjustment that same visit. Most appointments take 30-45 minutes.

How much does a chiropractic visit cost?
New and returning patient visits are $55 per visit, which includes your adjustment and any applicable therapies (ultrasound, muscle stimulation, hot/cold therapy). We also offer a Wellness Plan at $79/month for up to 4 visits per month. Prepaid cash plans are available that reduce the per-visit cost to as low as $43 per visit.

Does my health insurance cover chiropractic care?
Yes, many health insurance plans include chiropractic benefits. We are in-network with Quartz, Dean POS, Medicare, Forward Health (Badger Care), WPS, Physicians Mutual, Aetna, The Alliance, Cigna, Humana, and United Health Care. If you don't see your plan listed, call us — we may still be in your network.

What is the ProAdjuster and how is it different from traditional chiropractic?
The ProAdjuster 360 is a computerized chiropractic system that analyzes your spine with precision sensors, then delivers gentle, targeted adjustments using a series of light taps rather than manual twisting or cracking. It's ideal for patients who are nervous about traditional adjustments, those with sensitive spines, children, pregnant women, and seniors. Dr. Hammes is one of the only chiropractors in Madison to offer this technology.

How many visits will I need?
The number of visits depends on your condition, health history, and goals. Some patients experience relief after just a few visits. Others benefit from ongoing wellness care. Dr. Hammes will create a personalized treatment plan during your first visit and discuss realistic expectations based on your specific needs.

Is chiropractic care safe for children and pregnant women?
Yes. Chiropractic care is safe and beneficial for children of all ages — including infants — and is commonly used to help with colic, ear infections, reflux, posture issues, and general comfort. For pregnant women, gentle adjustments can relieve back pain, pelvic discomfort, and help maintain spinal alignment throughout pregnancy. Dr. Hammes adjusts his technique appropriately for each patient.
